Two Dinning experiences this past weekend Jack Frys & Di

by Mike M » Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:58 pm

Saturday night took my wife to Jack Frys for her birthday, and Stephanie made it a special night, from the streamers on the table to the cake, to the saxophone happy birthday, and the food was incredible, Shawn Ward is really one of Louisville's finest Chefs, Watermelon gazpacho was very tasty, and the heirloom tomato salad was a brilliant pairing of flavors. It's easy to see why Jack Frys has stayed at the top for so long, I can't wait to return.

If Jack Frys wasn't enough for the weekend, the whole family came in from out of town and we all went to Ditto's, it's been a while since I've been to Ditto's, but I must say I think they have turned it up a notch, the whole family loved it and called today still talking about the meal.

Thumbs up to two old favorites

speaking of Jack Fry's...

word on the street is that pastry chef Robbin Hill is retiring...

...those are big, big shoes to fill.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

That blows. Her cobblers are some of my favorite desserts in town.

Jack Fry's has always been one of my favorites - right down to the noisy dining room!
Ditto's has become one of our "regular" places, along with Baxter Station!
Love them both!

Oh man...that does blow. Any word on who is taking over her position?
