Taquería tacos at Taco Bell?

Taquería style tacos at Taco Bell, is the "real deal" putting a hurting on the 4th-meal slop?

These things are disgusting. The shells are the worst feature. Literally cold corn tortilla, two of them, per taco. As bland as you can get. And to top it off, the fillings are bland as well. The meat is virtually flavorless and were it not for the onions and cilantro, you might eat the wrapper and never know the difference. Not even the lime wedge can save the day...

Taco Bell is a guilty pleasure of mine and I'll stop through from the time to time and get a couple of things, but these "cantina" style tacos are vile.

Authentic purveyors have nothing to fear.

I completely agree with Ronnie. I had ONE yesterday (but had order three). It was tasteless. The cilantro and onion were the ONLY flavors noticable. The meat was supposed to have a marinade? No sauce. The shells were horrible.
No worries for those that make real tacos.

though seeing all the commercials has made me reconsider giving the authenticate style taco another try...where's the best place to hit for lunch?

When I saw the commercial for this I thought it might be a midweek stopgap for my Gordita trailer fix. I guess not.

We get tacos at La Rosita on Westport Road. As good a taco as I've ever had. They have a nice grocery and butcher shop as well.

Well....

If cilantro and onion and some sad lime squeeze are the only detectable flavors on the item, may be worth a try over ANY other item they serve.
