I was told this morning that the new La Bocca restaurant in New Albany will be opening on Monday, Aug. 2. It's at 132 E. Market Street, across from Toast on Market -- the former Connor's Place space.
You'll recognize it from the row of bright new Bud Select umbrellas out front (gnashing of teeth, LOL ). I'll have to get to work on that ... looks like the international monolith got there first.
That's about all I know at this writing. The story making the rounds has the owner of La Bocca having moved here from NYC, where he used to operate a similar eatery.
In other downtown NA restaurant news:
The Windsor (same block as La Bocca and Toast) has ceased daily hours and will open only for parties and events, and to cater for the Grand convention center, owned by the same group.
La Rosita's still has not announced a firm date for the relocation to Pearl Street, but this morning at the Farmers Market, word was late August for this game-changer downtown.
On Tuesday, August 3, NABC Bank Street Brewhouse will be the site of my 50th birthday party and the debut of a special beer brewed for me by Jared Williamson at the Grant Line shop: Ancient Rage, a Smoked Baltic Porter.
Isn't it great to be able to post so much news about restaurants in New Albany?
