Anyone know of anywhere that still serves this? Flabby's used to.
My neighbor who is 95 is a fan. I'd make it myself for him but I'm afraid I might pass out.

When my uncle was alive he ate these things all the time (self-prepared). The smell....

If the secret to longevity is limburger cheese and onions, I'll just die young.

My dad once sent me a box full of Wisconsin cheese. The limburger was passed along.
Ya'll are funny.

I can't believe I was having a conversation about this with someone yesterday and then see the post. My parents ate these things as poor college students and always talked about them.

I can't believe they were able to reproduce after eating them!
I have many fond memories of my Grandfather but his love of Limburger is not one of them

You must have never eaten one then. My Dad, his Dad, etc. All ate them. A very yummy sandwich to enjoy with a beer. You have to use real Limburger and not that awful Limburger spread sold at the grocery.

My mom and step dad knew it was real real between them when they both ate limburger cheese and onion sandwiches together, And he was a very cool guy!

Back when I was pretending to be a teacher, some of the more fun-loving of the Floyd Central staff would have periodic "seminars" after school to kick back with a few beers and talk shop. David's dad always brought his little cooler with limburger and onion sandwiches ... and usually was forced to sit by himself, in the corner. Verily, I learned of l & o sammies through Van Pierce, and still love them.

Dad always insisted on Bermuda onions.

I wonder if Lotsa Pasta would have it. They make sandwiches to order at the deli counter. You might also check with some of the other Germantown cafes like....Check's or The Germantown Cafe.

They aren't hard to build. Kroger still sells the little foil wrapped chunks of Limburger and sweet onions. Add bread and a beer, done.

Another neighbor took him to Checks...no Limburger.
He settled for Braunschweiger and onions.
