Applebee's Closed??

by Ron Taglieri » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:43 pm

Just noticed while leaving home from work tonight that Applebee's near Hurstbourne/Dorsey had sign removed and shades drawn with no cars in lot.

Maybe I missed posts, but had not heard that. Though I rarely went (even though within walking distance for lunch), never like to see people lose their jobs. Maybe something else can fill the void, though it is much better for lunch option given proximity to corporate office buildings.

One bad thing about building is it sits behind a McDonalds, so has poor visibility from road unless you know it is there.

Maybe I am wrong, but saw no signs of life.

I had to swing throught that McD's about 3 weeks ago and there wasn't a single car there during the middle of the day. I'm pretty sure it's gone. Surprised they haven't removed signage yet.

They tried to out price the whole world. Their deal of one app. two entree's for like $8.99? I mean, how can they sustain that? Corporate is thinking.. we can do this and starve out the competition. Make them lower their prices and they will die. Well, you cannot hang on to staff doing that. No one makes money. Talented Waitress leaves because she spent 6 hours and made $30 for the day. She looks for a job at a quality local joint. Back of the house is over worked and under paid. One guy doing two guys job. So they leave and hit an independent. The independent stays the course and wins because he serves quality food and offers a unique experience.

Keep on eating out.

Exactly! I have no idea how a restaurant could stay in bizz with those prices.

Hell, 30 bucks on a GOOD day! .

It is most definitely, CLOSED.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.
