Observations in the Highlands

by Lonnie Turner » Wed Jul 28, 2010 8:50 pm

While out for a walk this evening noticed three things:
1 - Pizza Roma 1511 Bardstown Rd has a "For Lease" sign, it is empty.
2 - Ray's Monkey House 1578 Bardstown Rd has brown butcher paper covering all the windows. I called the 459-4373 number & it says number cannot be completed or is no longer in service. Tried three times. Doesn't have a lease sign or any sign indicating it is out of business but does not appear to be open at present. ?
3 - The Bard's Town 1801 Bardstown Rd ph. 817-1906 - stopped to see if I could get a menu to take away, they will have them soon. But they opened 7/23, the front parking spaces were full and several tables were occupied with diners. They have a website up and the upstairs theater will open in the fall.
This has potential to be so cool...

Exciting bit about The Bard's Town! I forgot about the reputed inception. Thanks for the reminder. Must meet Marsha for theatre when it opens!

I only know from Hotbytes comments, but Ray's (Nimbus') has been closed for a couple of months. He's still "inactively" running for mayor though? I hope! I like that guy.

Don't know the first thing about Pizza Roma outside of Marsha's original comments. This area is too staunch to try to make it with something outside of the hydro of pizza. Weren't they in an old toy store of sorts? Model airplanes and such?

Yes, I noticed the paper too. I don't recall seeing anything here on it closing, or why, but maybe I missed it. Is it temporary or permanent?
