It seems like a reasonable enough tariff for lunch in that location. I think the menu is very well thought out to be able to execute during the busy two hour lunch crush downtown. I wonder if this fair city's barristers will embrace it like they did the old Delta? I wish Chef Dave all the best!

In fairness, "The Old Delta" is not as wacky a location as "The Old Sears." The Delta just closed this year, and it had been around for a couple of generations. Maybe people who didn't work downtown didn't know if it, though.

Thanks for the info - and you are right, I'm not downtown much, so that's my excuse! I work all over the city, but my work doesn't typically include anyplace in the downtown business district. Still, good to know about a new place to meet my hubby for lunch sometime!

Anderson and Dave sounds like a HUGE selling point to me. Way to go, fellas.

*editted to note - "yes, Anderson from Asiatique, and I think I've gathered he's planted some other roots in the local food scene, as well as the truly notable, Chef Dave Nelson."

Those are good guys.

Enticing! Especially the salmon hash! Will go check it out this week, and report back.

My boss went there for lunch today (without me???!!). He said they have only been open for 2 days, and it shows. He sat at the bar. He had a tuna melt and fresh cut fries. He said the food was "average" and "could have been better".

Funny side note folks....Dave said they sold 75 pounds of freshly made french fries today...I could hardly believe it...I double checked to make sure that was what he said....people are loving them.

Thank you for your comments, all of them. Yes, we are having some growing pains as I expected. Dave is doing an excellent job of increasing output to keep up with demand. We certainly hope to attain the same level of speed as our predecessors while increasing quality and creativity which is very important to us. Our passion and mission is to serve an outstanding dish at a very affordable price with exemplary service.

Although it pains me that our rush has sometimes produced some longer than acceptable ticket times, I am very pleased to say that mostly everyone has been extremely pleased with their dish aside from timeliness. Dave is putting out a tremendous product and I am confident we will be able to outgrow these pains.

As far as the menu goes, I feel it is the perfect salute to the diversity of Delta Lounge along with a creative twist for the lunch market in our fair city.

I hear ya Dave.
I''m quite familiar with what your going through from my days at the City Cafe. Lunch service Downtown is a tough road to haul, but it can be done well, affordable and quickly.

Us in "The Bizz" understand that there will be some growing pains, especially with your location and what you're trying to do menu wise.
Unfortunately, most of the general public has no concept of what opening a place is like with not knowing what to expect business wise.. It's hard to set a par level of prepped food on your first couple of days when you have no idea how many people will be walking in the door.
Also, with the immediacy of today's society. No one has any patience whatsoever anymore.

The hard work at first will pay off eventually. What seems difficult to keep up with now, will seem so much easier once you establish a routine and have a better idea of what to expect on daily basis.
Good Luck Guys!
