NABC Yakima Rye IPA

by Rob Coffey » Sat Jul 17, 2010 5:47 pm

Was at Bank Street last night. The seasonal Yakima Rye is easily my favorite NABC beer ever. Absolutely amazing. That needs to leave the seasonal list.

I am a sucker for rye beers though.

Another of Jared's creations. Also one of Chef Josh's favorites. Did you try the two single hop APA's

No. I learned years ago that once I start drinking Ryes, everything else tastes weird afterword. The single hop APAs looked very interesting though.

I'd just like to give a big thank you to the kitchen at bank street for our date on Sunday. We had no idea about the kitchen stopping at 7, and shelly was right back after checking to let us know we were free to order anything we wanted. Very accommodating! And kept us there for a round.

Totally agree on the Yakima IPA. Had one with pizza Thursday at the place formerly known as RichO's.
My new NABC favorite.

I'll let Jared know. The beer was kind of serendipitous; he was waiting on me to place a malt order and through this together for fun. Nice how these things beer work out.

Rob. I suggest you seek out the Boulevard Brewing Company's Smokestack Series "Rye on Rye" a rye ale aged in Templeton Rye whiskey barrels.

BTW - Jared's beers are grrrrrreat!!
(I had one of the World Cup beers that was outstanding on my last visit to the NABC)

Thanks for the beer love everyone, Yakima is my tribute to America's love of hoppy rye ales. Hopefully this is just the beginning for Yakima...

Sounds similar to Founder's Red Rye's IPA, which is a fantastic beer. Looks like a trip to Richo's is in my near future.

Better than Founder's, it's locally made! Bank Street is out of Yakima and the last keg is almost gone at our Original location. Get some!

I've said it before, as soon as NABC starts bottling or canning I'll be hard pressed to buy from any other brewery. Growlers are great, but would require multiple trips for refills.
