Louisville Magazine loves Basa, too

by Robin Garr » Sat Jul 14, 2007 8:15 am

Demonstrating what a difference a point of view makes, Louisville Magazine's Stephen Hacker coincidentally reviews Basa Modern Vietnamese in the June issue of Louisville Magazine, now online, and perceives it as Vietnamese in contrast with Marty's "continental" description; and he loves the pho that Marty gently dissed in the CJ.

Hacker slots Basa in the same niche with Vietnam Kitchen and, um, Yang Kee Noodle in a solid review that runs to more than 900 words. It's largely almost ad-copy positive, although Hacker does seem to pull away a bit from the mag's Chamber of Commerce tradition to bestow fainter praise on "dull" shrimp and a sugary, "somewhat successful" macadamia nut tart.
