They are tearing it down next week. I still miss the buffet lunch there, great people and servers, lots of good memories.

Where did the Masterson's catering operation move to?

They've had a sign up at a property on lower Lexington Rd., near Baxter, for a while now. I'm assuming they're moving there.

As an undergrad student at UofL during the mid-late 70's, we often took advantage of Masterson's discounted lunch buffet with a student ID card -- it was a great deal.

One of my dear Grandmother's favorites when she would come to town. We always had to "dress appropriatly" for the evening. And it was always fun being greated by Spiro himself.....ah, those were the days.....

Farewell, dear venue. Fond memories go with you.

Certainly was a key landmark during my time at UofL. The building will be missed.

I was thinking more in line with the charitable waitresses willing to wait on late night groups of drunken students. That's beautiful!

I never went to U of L and didnt grow up THAT close to this place. I will miss seeing it and maybe I missed the time period where the food was something special there but by the time I went in the 90s it was pretty average buffet food.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

I think standards changed more than the food but the place was a landmark for those of us who attended U of L.

It wasn't just U of L students...I went to JCC we had our Nursing Class awards banquet there.
I kind of felt like Mastersons was some kind of right of passage into adulthood...silly I know.
First place they ever asked if I wanted anything from the bar...I wasn't legal yet but gee I felt so good...lol
