Lunch Ideas Please

by Karen H » Sat Jul 03, 2010 12:57 am

Ok help me please...I need ideas for lunch next week...something better than soup & salad or sandwiches. Have been to Corbett's and love it but would like to try something new. I do like the price fixe idea though. Does anyone else have this at lunch? Would prefer Louisville area or something close. This is a birthday celebration. :D

Thanks for your help!

Lilly's offers a three course Pre Fixe at Lunch for $15.

Proof also has a prix fixe lunch menu also- and then you could go check out the 21C Museum( which is free and very cool).

Deb,
What kind of menu do they have for their prix fixe? I couldn't find it on their website. :? Thanks!

Edit: I called them today (7-5) and they said they don't have a prix fixe lunch! :( :( Oh well!

I think the prix fixe issue kind of cuts down on the number of options, Karen. Are you open to other suggestions that aren't prix fixe? I gather you want something nicer than soup'n'sandwich. How about ethnic?

Yes Robin I definately would be open to something other than prix fixe! Ethnic would work too. :D

Okay, great! The "soup and sandwich rule" still knocks out a lot of nice places like Michele's on Goss and Meridian Cafe, but ... how about Cafe Lou Lou? Also Saffron's, North End Cafe, Dragon King's Daughter, Blind Pig, Havana Rumba, Bombay Grill, Cocos Lokos, Village Anchor Pub and Roost, Bank Street Brewhouse (open for lunch only Fridays and weekends but at 2 p.m. daily), Mai's Thai ... I'm sure I'm overlooking a lot, but that ought to open up your choices a bit :)

Selena's also have a very nice lunch and I'm sure Peking City would also be very enjoyable. Obviously you can't go wrong with anything you mentioned either.

Selena's, yes indeedy! I forgot they have lunch. Good call, Mark. I'm sure Peking City would be good, too, although not having been there yet, I didn't know if, like some Chinese places, they nudge people toward the basic "lunch special" menu at midday.
