Proof - appropriate dress

by Matthew D » Thu Jul 01, 2010 1:05 pm

Hi,

Wondering about the "dress code" at Proof. Would a nice pair of very very new, well-fitting, dark jeans fly? I don't do well with business casual as I despise the whole category of "slacks." Granted, I have pairs of nice suit pants, so I'm covered if need be - but would really like to wear jeans (w/a collared shirt).

The reservation's during the trolley hop, so I'm also wondering if the dress expectations dip a little on that first Friday of the month.

The verdict?

I've been in the place wearing jeans, shorts, slacks and never felt uncomfortable.

Matthew, I found myself unexpectedly at Proof the other evening and didn't feel out of place at all in Jeans.

Thanks Justin and Gary for the feedback (which doubles as reassurance).

What drove me to ask was what I thought was a rather interesting difference in how the dress code is listed on the reviews that accompany google maps. Z's Fusion, for instance, is listed as "casual chic." Proof, on the other hand, is listed as "business casual." Obviously, there's no way to trace who is making these decisions and what authority they have (that's why I turned to LHB), but I found the distinction between the two interesting, although unhelpful.

I wear jeans at my business most of the time.

We dine at Proof often and while we like to "dress up" to go there, there seems to be lots of people wearing jeans, shorts and any number of things I wouldn't consider "business casual."
When in doubt, add more wine.
