Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
Hope it comes here, just got ripped off by paying $8+ for a sorry little salad of tomatoes with a couple of tiny Mozzarella balls. Yuck ! It's going downhill fast.
Isn't this store in one of the "better" parts of St. Louis?
Yes. Clayton is a west of downtown, and considered a "satellite city." Heading west, you have downtown, the SLU area, the Central West End, Forest Park, U-City (Washington University) area, and then Clayton. Very high income and education levels in Clayton, as well as very high cost of living. It has it's own "mini-downtown" with some tall buildings, etc.

Sucess by guilt and location. My wife is on a temporary work assignment in St Louis. The area is very upscale. No riff-raff allowed. The line-up at the nearby mall we visited just last weekend included Cole Hann, Tiffany & Co. Sax 5th Ave, Kate Spade, Louis Vitton and Neiman Marcus just to name a few. It was a safe bet putting the honor system in place in an area like that. On a side note we went to the mall to see Winters Bone. A great movie! I think the star, Jennifer Lawrence is from Louisville. Now hold on to your hats local movie goers. A small soft drink $5.50, large popcorn $8.50. I almost fainted.
And another side note about St Louis. The Soulard Farmers Market. It is the bomb!! Monsterous, loaded with permanent and weekend local vendors. A pork store, produce out the wazoo!! Seafood, cheeses and 2 places to get mixed drinks!! Yes, the wife and I were shopping on Sat. morning around 9:30, bloody mary in hand along with a nice fresh grilled banger sandwich. Wish we had it here.
