Bad experience with Bristol Catering

by Linda C » Mon Jun 28, 2010 12:32 pm

I was shocked by the way 2 of the employees treated us Saturday night. There were 2 of us playing a wedding ceremony on the porch at the Peterson house. The rest of the band was to set up after the ceremony when the crowd moved indoors. Immediately after the ceremony, 2 females began yelling at us telling us to move so they could get the bar set up. We knew we had to move, but we couldn't go anywhere because they hadn't moved the chairs. When we started to move chairs, they started getting nasty saying not to touch them, they were staying. It was ridiculous. It went on an on. We all are in our 50's-60's, not long haired stupid kids. We were trying to be professional and make it a lovely event. There was no excuse for the rude treatment we received. Just because we are musicians we are not "below" you. I hope none of you have to deal with these people when planning an event.Unbelievable.

Linda, if you haven't done this, I suggest you call Bristol management and have a quiet, non-accusatory talk with them. I expect you've earned an apology at least.

If it hadn't been so unneccesary, I wouldn't have said a word. I haven't experienced that in YEARS. I have worked with Masterson's, Halls, Les Nieman, Silver Spoon, Upper Crust....all of them. Never had this happen with them.

Robin,
First of all, thank you for encouraging Linda, to contact Bristol Catering regarding her complaint. I received Linda's email, and have responded to her.

We apologize that Linda feels that our staff treated her rudely and with disrepect. Bristol Catering is sensative to the needs of all the vendors who are involved with making the bride and grooms wedding day memorable.

Again, we appreciate the opportunity to respond to your complaint.

I would like to thank Emilie for her response. I am glad we got to tell both sides of the story. Yes, we had a last minute change because the couple wanted us to move. It wasn't our fault. We could assisted with the caterers with the chairs and tables, but one employee yelled at us. It was not the "staff" it was one person mainly. The rest of the staff were great and professional.
It is also my desire to provide the best service I can to the couple.
