Looking to buy a pos system. Which is better, Aloha or Micros? What do you have? Have you used both and which one is better? Thanks for the help.

I've never worked front of the house,
but I've hard nothing but praise for Aloha... and complaints on Micros.

Probably worth looking into a demo of each...
Which I'm sure is normal protocol for the marketing of such software;
and seeing which you like best.

I hear that Aloha is a lot more user friendly on the interface, and a lot more versatile.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Dell is actually getting in big time into POS and they have 2 station systems for dirt cheap (they also interface with their laptops etc.) Micros systems blow.....IMO

perhaps it should be noted for those not in the biz...
Point of Sale, not Piece of...

Well, some can be.

Definitely go for Aloha. It is so user-friendly, requiring very little training for management and service staff. It isn't cheap by any means, but is worth its cost 100%. If you have any questions about this system, feel free to e-mail me.

Oh- and if you get Aloha, go with Lynn Moore from Kline. She's a great rep and will help you with all your needs.

I've worked with Micros also. It gave me so many headaches!

I love my Aloha system--it's soooo easy to use. With mama changing the menu every few days (kidding, really) it's easy to reprogram...feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

My experience with both systems makes my pick Aloha by a long shot - ease of use, variety of reports available and inventory management make it a very nice program
