Papalinos Is Now Offering Draft Beer!

by Allan R » Sun Jun 27, 2010 6:10 pm

I just wanted to let all of our fans out there know that we now have a draft beer system. The taps will be changed seasonally, right now we have NABC Hoptimus Prime, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Lager, & Bud Light. Stop by for a slice and a ice cold draft beer! Thanks Robin for allowing me to post this!

Thank You Everyone For Your Continued Support,

Can anyone clear up the Hoptimus vs Hoptimus Prime issue? I have never seen Hoptimus called Hoptimus Prime by NABC, only by restaurants on this forum. What is the deal?

As far as I know, NABC's is just Hoptimus. To confuse matters even more, there are several microbrews out there called Hoptimus Prime. Best example is this one from Legacy Brewing: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/legacy-hop ... ime/61147/ .

Alan
Thats a brave post informing the beer snobs on this forum that you have some American "swill" for sale at your place. Heaven forbid you should try to have a bit of something for everyone. Bud Light, how dare you!!!

Alan,
Thank you for carrying our beer.

I don't think I'm a beer snob, but I like good beer and don't care for the low-flavor industrial stuff. That said, I can't imagine that anyone here would object to Allan providing what part of his Baxter Zone audience probably wants ... that doesn't diminish the applause he earns for putting on great local brews for the rest of us.

What raises my hackles is when a quality eatery puts on nothing but the mega-brewers' "Lites" and offers no local or artisanal alternative. But that's a whole 'nother story and not applicable here.

I'm not a beer snob...but I do drink the local brews when I do drink beer. I think this is a great addition to a great pizza place. Looking forward to my next pie.

Robin said it quite well. I've spent too many years being just as sarcastic in reverse: "Gee, thanks for having one good beer among 25, just for little 'ol me."

It's amazing what yearly 10% growth does to clear people's minds ... if not palates.

By the way: Alan, thanks for having our beer on tap, for people like us.

One never really knows. I know O' Shea's ordered one for their Hop Fest thing. Did you Get Some?

I tried to have some of that today at O'Shea's, but "something was wrong with the keg" besides being empty. ? After 25 minutes, I'm afraid I asked them to serve me something else.

Such tiny glasses! I think 10 oz?

I'm confused. Was the final verdict empty, then?

"Have to change the keg", "Need to change the CO2 thingy", "None of them will work right now", and "The Founders' Double Trouble works, would you like that?" were all offered during the 25 minutes. No idea. Everyone around me seemed to be getting draft beers just fine - I was just as confused as you are, Roger.

Some good spirited debate!! Thats what keeps this place interesting. No knock to Papalinos at all on my part. They have great pizza! My son even works at Spinellis. I have lost some loyalty to them. For me a hot summer day cries for an American style beer.
