UPick - Bryant's Blueberries, Hubers, and.....

by Matthew D » Thu Jun 24, 2010 12:06 pm

Looking for options for blueberries, blackberries, and/or raspberries. Recommended place doesn't have to have availability of all three. I'm intrigued by Bryant's, although, truth be told, I like blackberries more.

Any help is appreciated.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Bryant's is a great place for blueberries. Clean rows. Grass is cut inbetween. Friendly staff. TONS of fruit.
We go every year. Went yesterday and picked 8lbs. Their price is $2/lb.

I don't like Huber's for berries. I think they are overpriced.

We did go to Huber's for dinner yesterday after being at Bryant's to pick.

Second Bryant's for Blueberries and they only do blueberries. Nice family run operation. Best to check their website for their picking schedule as they are not open everyday to assure adequate availability.

I've never understood the attraction of Huber's, but that's probably just me

As for the non-attraction to Huber's, I can understand the sentiment. I'm going with someone who is new(ish) to Louisville and never been. Having heard about Huber's, she's interested in seeing what it is all about.

Granted, I did describe Huber's as sort of the mega-church of Ma and Pa places. Part of the reason for my post was to seek out alternatives.

How overpriced is Huber's? There's a fine line between Ma/Pa and tourist trap.

I'd just pick Bryant's and be done, except blueberries are probably my least-preferred option of the three. I've got raspberry and blackberry ice cream and cobblers on the mind. And, let me tell you, that thought lingers (and strong!).
