Key West tip

by Jessica Devine » Sat Jun 19, 2010 7:57 pm

Hey everyone! I'm writing from my Key West honeymoon and wanted to share something interesting that we saw at a restaurant. We've found some amazing places to eat off the beaten path and some right in the middle of Old Town. No complaints, just praise for all the yummy food. Anyway, we ate breakfast at a cute little spot called Sarabeth's yesterday morning. At the bottom of our check it said:

17% - good service, 20% - excellent service
Service not included.

This didn't offend me in any way because I always start at 20% and work my way up for excellent service. It just seemed like something I wish I could've said when I was waiting tables. It was just surprising to see.

Also, the owner said that he's heard all about Louisville's restaurant scene from the many Louisvillians that have second homes in Key West. Must be nice...

P.S. How do I change my last name on my profile?

Jessica, best wishes! :)

I have to change user names ... we make that a moderator task in order to keep spammers from joining the forum under a reasonable name and then changing it to something like "Make Money Fa$$$t" once I let them in. ;)

But if you'll send me a PM or email me at rgarr@louisvillehotbytes.com I can fix it up for you.

A trip to Key West isn't complete without a visit to the Green Parrot. Also, Mike, a bartender at Schooner's Wharf, is a Louisvillian. Great dude too!
