That looks like one fine lineup. Great job putting that together!

It just so happens that the 24th is my birthday! We'll be there after dinner for sure.

Thanks guys, will I be seeing you there at any point? I'm excited, there are a few beers I've never had, and a few more that I've never had on draft. I look forward to trying each and every one!

Ashley, I've had the Brugge Zot—in Bruges. One of my favorite things. (I also had a cherry lambic that was pretty spectacular, although I don't recall who made it.)

Awesome, thanks for posting that! Haven't made it to Belgium yet, but it's on my list! I'm sure it was an amazing experience.
We do have a couple of changes.... you know how it can be getting the correct beer that was ordered from the distributor. The Brugse Zot is now the Brugse Zot Dubbel, the Urthel Quadrupel came in bottles instead of draft :( the St. Bernardus Abt 12 has changed to the Prior 8, and the Val-Dieu Tripel is now the Abbaye des Rocs Tripel. Also, we replace the Urthel Quad draft with Jolly Pumpkin's E.S. Bam. I can't wait to try that. A few of the beers are still on trucks on their way to Louisville... what a way to keep me hanging! I think the distributors just like to see me a nervous wreck! We will have the taps full tonight, but a few of the beers I really look forward to may not be on until a little further in the weekend.

You are quite welcome, Ashley! Duly corrected.

Belgium was more or less an impulse side trip from Amsterdam. We knew Belgian beer was good, but nothing could have prepared us for what we experienced. Of course, we didn't go there with a mission to try anything special, so we had really no expectations. It was so very hot that day and the famous Belgian chocolate I bought to take back with me turned into a sugary brown soup on the train back to Amsterdam. It was heartbreaking!

If you want to get a sense of Bruges, I highly recommend the blacker-than-black gangster comedy 'In Bruges,' starring Colin Farrell. The best of Bruges in two hours, minus the beer. Enjoy.

Truer words have seldom been spoken, Ashley. At a couple of Gravity Heads, I had to send out search parties in dog sleds.

LOL, no doubt! I have to give it to one of them though, Beer Dave from Bryant drove to Pittsburg today to pick up a keg he promised me. Now THAT'S dedication to beer!

I was amazed with the Cuvee de Trolls, soooooooo good! It may have been my favorite last night, but the Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru was a close second.

The first time I saw Cuvee de Trolls was some time around 2002 at the then-new taproom at Dubuisson, the maker of Scaldis (Bush in Belgium). If I recall the story correctly, Trolls came from a brewpub nearby that Dubuisson bought into at some point. At any rate, shall we say that it was refreshing to have an ale of mere 7/8% strength rather than Scaldis/Bush, which at the time had released their version of lower gravity ale -- only 10.5%!

Ah, great news Ashley. I've been studying for the boards and out of town, so I haven't had much time for beer drinking lately. (Or anything else for that matter.)

I'll be there this week. Cheers!
