Does anyone know if Cafe Lou Lou is open for regular business tonight or having a private event for their grand re-opening?

Just ate there...

Looks GREAT inside!

The menu is basically the same, and as usual they had great specials. I had linguini with lamb, tomatoes, red and green pepper, and parsley and bay leaf. Also. there was a tilapia salad special. They don't have desserts yet but will tomorrow. There was a good number of people there, but fast service! The servers and other staff (as well as patrons) seemed genuinely excited about the new location.

I dropped by yesterday for a late lunch. The place looks great. the service was on point, and the food was really, really good.
We ordered the Wild Bill's Cajun Cheese w/breadsticks as a starter. Then for entrees...the Penne w/Taragon and Shrimp, Pasta Jambalaya (both 1/2 orders which were still enough to warrant to-go boxes), and the Spinach Artichoke Roll. I sipped a BBC Lou Lou Lager with my Jambalaya. Not the most spectacular beer in the world, but the light, crisp brew was exactly what I wanted as a countepoint to the spicy, smokey flavors of my dish.

Here's to your prosperity in your new location, Mr Wallace.
Kudos to you and your staff. I will definitely be in on a regular basis.

Had lunch there today. They had a nice crowd and mentioned the first day (yesterday) went well. The meatball sandwich was on the menu. I had it's cousin, the meatball calzone, it was great!

if the 'Chef Jeff's' meatball sandwich w/ garlic aioli is the 'killer' in question, then the answer is a resounding YES!

We went opening night and everything was great. The new digs are lovely...we brought an out of towner and he was smitten with the meatball sandwich.

The new Lou Lou looks great! The artwork and colors from the old place are there, but it feels so bright and airy! It just had a great, open feeling and we really enjoyed it.
What a great addition to St. Matthews. Hopefully, this will be a trend to bring more of the "cool" restaurants to SM. While we didn't mind going to Frankfort Ave for Cafe Lou Lou's food, we are glad that they've moved closer to our house.

We had dinner tonight at the new place and thought it was absolutely fabulous. Both the decor and the food were excellent. I said in an earlier post (when I heard about the move) that I was skeptical, but this is definitely a winner. They laid my fears to rest. The restaurant is still just as funky and fun, but there are a lot of improvements as well. Congratulations to everyone at Cafe Lou Lou. They were slammed tonight and the food was better than ever. There was a pasta special tonight which was amazing - it was asparagus ravioli with mascarpone cheese, smoked salmon, onions and roma tomatoes. I thought it was the best pasta I have ever had. Very creative and intriguing. Our waiter said it would be on the menu for a while so I encourage everyone to try it.
Thanks again to everyone at Cafe Lou Lou, and best of luck even though it doesn't look like you need it too much. I think I will be spending lots of time over there since three of my favorite restaurants are now within a block of eachother.
