Pink Door serves awesome Pad Thai

by Matthew Landan » Mon Jul 09, 2007 3:00 pm

Went out for dinner to the pink door last Saturday night after the Indie Day festival at Ear X-tacy. I had the spicy Pad Thai with chicken. It was awesome!
The fresh cilantro and chopped peanuts just added great flavor/texture to the noodles. It was a heaping portion, I had dinner and then enough leftovers for lunch today and I still have at least one more meal in the to-go container.
One of the owners Heather was our server. She was awesome. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and at one point commented on how she would have loved to taste my entre but couldn't because it had chicken in it. 5 minutes latter out came a small plate of the Pad Thai veggy style. Now that's service!!!
Mary Ann has a noodle bowl in broth with fresh veggies and plain tofu. It was excellent she said.
We used to go to Lemongrass Cafe a bunch for Asian food but after our last XP there (it was a stinker) we are happy to have found a new casual Asian cafe!
I can highly recommend Pink Door. It's a great atmosphere and super resonably priced.

Good to hear! I've had others recommend this place to me. I'm a vegetarian (leaning towards veganism) and I've been told they have a lot of options. Is this on Bardstown Road... where exactly is it located?

Where is it located? My mom grew up on Dundee Road in the 1940's, this question could be a lot of fun!

We love Pink Door and so do the kids. I love the 'living room" in the back, it's a great place for a small group who doesn't want to meet in a bar and talk over the music, Tvs, etc. And playing Jenga!
The food is fresh, filling and delicious and you always feel you've done something good for your body.

It's located off of Bardstown Road on Douglass Loop next to the Deli and nearby Desert's by Helen.

The Pink Door has been on our list of faves since it opened. However, it seems like the service is getting slower and slower. We had found ourselves going less often due to past slow service, and the warmer weather. We decided to give it another try tonight, and were disappointed yet again. Our appetizers took forever, and the entrees were another age after that. I do love the food and the atmosphere. I'm perfectly willing to wait a while for good fresh food, but when even our waters went empty not once but TWICE for extended periods of time, I just have trouble wanting to go back for a while.
