Papalino's Pizza

by Joe C » Sun Jun 06, 2010 12:44 pm

Went there this past Friday for a takeout order. My first time. The place was busy and had a line that almost went out the door. Parking was difficult on that busy stretch of Baxter. Almost got rear-ended trying to parallel park. I ordered bread sticks, half sausage pizza(the sausage is reportedly homemade) and 2 cannoli's, about $26 with a $2 tip. Got home and put the cannoli's in the fridge. The bread sticks were made from a good pizza dough, not too crispy with some butter and garlic and good dipping sauce.
I loved the pizza and the sausage. The problem came with the cannoli's. Having been raised a full blooded Italian in a NJ family, I have eaten my share of these treats. The quality of the shells and filling were wonderful. The problem is in the amount - you are not supposed to see through the cannoli. I could have passed a thin hot dog through the opening. There was a half inch bead of filling on the bottom of the shell but it appeared pretty pathetic. I was already home when I noticed this.
I will talk with them next time. Oh, yes I will be back for some more of the sausage!
