Carolina Shrimp gone

Sad news ... Carolina Shrimp Co. has closed. Located behind BBC in St. Matthews off Westport Road, they were a little out of the way, but seemed to overcome that successfully for years. I called to check a rumor of their closing, though, and got confirmation that they've closed their doors as of last weekend.

Yet another loss. Terrible!

That completely BLOWS. I loved that place, I ate there often

My lovely bride will be crushed. Her favorite place for a quick, low-fat lunch.

My (step)uncle Jere Smith started the place and later turned it over to his grandson. Jere died 3 weeks ago. I am sad to hear this as well.

So sad to hear about the loss of Jere and the restaurant! Always great service, great food! Unbeatable prices too...my favorite was the peeled shrimp with cheese and onions.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Jere. He was always a KRA member and had a great business. Jere and Carolina Shrimp will be missed.
