Which restaurants do you miss?

by Carla G » Mon May 17, 2010 9:50 am

In the past 18-24 months we've lost a vast number of restaurants in Louisville. Many were fairly new to restaurant scene, others had been around for years. I'm curious to know, out of all the restaurants that have recently closed, which one will you miss the most and why?

Melillo's gets the nostalgia vote, and Azalea was a tough loss, too. But I think the hardest hit for me was Primo, because it showed so much promise.

Grisanti's. I miss the smell of garlic wafting through J-Town, and the food and service were SO good.

Primo and Ferd Grisanti.

Ferd Grisanti had the best calamari and cannoli I've eaten.

- Shout out to Sesame Chinese. A long time personal favorite closed after many years...

I miss Nik's, both for the Greek food and the belly dancing, and I miss Little Bit of Seoul which I think had Korean food superior to Lee's, Koreana and Kim's.

I really, really miss Nik's. :( :(

Little Bit of Seoul

I ate there once, I was always afraid I was recalling the name incorrectly. I enjoy it immensely that one visit though.

Mazzoni's

I grew up in that neighborhood and went with friends and family many, many times. Really miss the salmon croquettes and fries.

Mellillo's.

I mourn it's passing weekly.

I loved Azalea also, but IMO it was a shell of it's former self by the time the doors closed.
