PR: Boombozz Famous Pizza to relocate in former Patron

The forum scouts have already reported this informally. Here's the official news release, courtesy of Tony P!

Boombozz Famous Pizza to relocate in former Patron location

Boombozz Famous Pizza, a St. Matthews/Crescent Hill mainstay pizzeria for nearly 12 years, will relocate across from its current Frankfort Avenue location to former residence of The Patron at 3400 Frankfort Avenue.

"It's going to be a great move," said Tony Palombino, CEO/Founder of Boombozz Famous Pizza, "this relocation allows us to serve our customers in a sit-down fashion as well as take advantage of an outdoor seating area that will be a premiere gathering place in a great area of the city."

The new Boombozz will nearly double in size: it will seat 65, up from 25 at its current location at 3334 Frankfort Avenue. Palombino said he will add up to 10 employees during the transition, bringing the total number of employees to about 28.

There is no target date for opening, but Palombino projected the new Boombozz will be open at the beginning of June.

Palombino said he is adding televisions to the facility and will adopt the décor and menu from its sister concept, Boombozz Pizza & Taphouse. Although the bar area and beer taps won't be a feature, craft Bottle beer and wines will be served. The addition of an outdoor patio, a popular feature at the BoomBozz locations in the Louisville Highlands and in Louisville's Westport Village, will round out the new location.

"This has been the best year so far in the nearly 12 years for the BoomBozz brand," Palombino said. "The St. Matthews and the Crescent Hill neighborhoods are the birthplace of Boombozz and I will never forget where we started and where we came from."
