The Blessings and Rewards of Irreverant Kindness

by Stephen D » Wed May 05, 2010 6:40 pm

So, on my way out the door right now...

Haven't showered
Haven't shaved
Eyes all a-cock with the residuals of tasting a whole weekend's worth of free spirits

Ahhh... but I traveled to the McDonald's for my fast food fix of cheap junk food and 'dem fries!' Long line. I have learned over the years that it is quicker to simply go inside. Then it happens...

I walk in the door and I see (an aunt, not the mother, and a youngin, so young, that they don't have point recognition.) Puruvian heritage, but then again maybe not. Yet, what is important to me is that I get to play with the babay!

Then the red carpet opens for me! The whole house opens and my order is expidited, I am given free cookies (jus cause- oh and I gave them to the aunt and mother- jus cause.) In fact, let me be honest-these people treated me better than familly just becasue I unknowingly treated one of thiers like familly!

If you want the phenomenal experience, simply follow this rule: treat them like they were your own!

Make it habit

It will bring depth and the 'haha's' that paint the palattes of your days with technicolor.

Nice to see you back, Jackie! I missed you...

I am not sure I can expound on the previous post- it kinda spells out the truth of it all.

When you honestly see the babe and treat them as your own- they will treat you as thiers.
When you honestly forget the misgivings of the convict- they will yours.
When you honestly love the 'unloved,' they will love you.
When you honestly include the outcast, they will include you.

This is the true reward of irreverant kindness- that which comes back to you- filling your life with the blessings of divine retribution.

Give it the try! Make it habit! I can promise you these are the daily blessings of kings!

Awwww Sweetie! I love those moments as well and I couldn't have said it better. But let's take it a step further...
It's pretty simple to go in and be proactive with kindness; to be the first to offer a smile, a handshake, a hug. But the real test of kindness is to go in with the same smile, handshake or hug AFTER someone has been 'proactive' with some sort of malice or perceived hatefulness or anger. And after all, aren't these angry people the ones that really need the smile? It's easy to give back what you receive but to give back kindness even after the first stone has been tossed, well, that's a bit harder. I'm not saying we should all be doormats but I think we should take the time to ask "hey! What's with all the stones buddy?" Am I making sense?

It's hard to do but, when I am in a particularly crappy mood, I try and be extra nice to everyone around me. It disarms them and me and seems to make it all better.

I'm with you on this- the 'kill them kindness' concept, just a step further.

(metaphor alert)

It's like when you walk into the day, working your way through the battlefield of jaded masses- all you have is the steel of optimism, the armour of kindness, the shield of affection. Never mind the dagger tucked in your boot- that of playfull childish irreverance.

If one don't do it, the next will!

Haha! I'm so laughing AT myself right now. Did I just go there? Proudly- YUP.

I'm a honey-baked ham!

(gonna further alienate myself from the elders here- jus cause)

I get feedback all of the time from restaurant owners, managers, tenders and staff, etc. The main thing I hear is 'you got to be more humble.'

I look at them and smile, because they just told me that they only pop on here and figure that they know what me and my ilk (you know who you are) are doing. They get the snapshot and I know they are here just to see what we have said about them. They truly know nothing of our work (yeah- you.)

They have forgotten that the same time we are excited about our own stuff, that we are even more excited about thiers.

Robin, you should banish the search function, simply to force these people to pay attention!

Ewps! Too far? Haha!

OK, I'm still thinking about Stevie D going to the Micky D....anyone up for french fry infused potato vodka? Actually, that might be pretty good....
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.
