Simply Thai is moving!

by Linda C » Tue May 04, 2010 12:39 pm

to the place across the street where Bazo's once was. Well, if you really want to go back, the place that used to be the Hat Box!! How's that for old Louisville!

This is great news- we only get carryout cause the place makes me claustrophobic.

Is that the Thai place in Fern Creek or behind Krispy Kreme?

It is close to the intersection of Frankfort and Lexington Ave in St. Matthews.

Yes, assuming that they can scale up in size - which has been a challenge for some places that moved to larger quarters - it's great news.

After it was that Hat Box, by the way, it was Sid's Bagels for a while, the one really good local bagel joint we've ever had, then became a Bruegger's bagels, but the contrast between the local and its chain successor was stark enough that Bruegger's didn't last long. It also housed a few "incubator" eateries that I believe Tony Palombino of Boombozz fostered - Thatsa Wrap before Bazo's. Quite an interesting history. I hope Simply Thai thrives there.

You might not want to mention that here after that happened with LaGallo Rosso.

Weve always called it "Tiny Thai". Guess will need a new nickname.

Looks like they took our suggestion here on the board! That's wonderful!

And yes, I miss Thatsa Warp too. The ancho burrito at Qdoba is the closest thing I can get to the Sante Fe wrap (I THINK that's what it was called). But Thatsa Wrap was much better!

Does anyone know when this move is taking place?

More importantly, are they going to be closed for a period of time, pending the transition?

Don't know. They told my husband a few days ago when he was getting carryout. Men don't generally ask those questions. ;-)
