Thanks Baxter Station

My girlfriend and I hesitantly attended The Derby this year. With the weather man using the description of the rain as "biblical" -- we weren't really sure if we wanted to give it a shot. Even with the tickets that my girlfriend scored for us in the Barcardi Infield VIP tent. We braved it though, and the tent was great.

After The Derby we headed out to grab something to eat with some friends, without reservations. Thankfully they suggested Baxter Station. I wasn't sure if we could get in since we didn't have reservations and honestly, I was in a bit of a time crunch since I had a gig that night in Southern Indiana with my photo booth.

Initially the hostess told us that we might have to wait for a table, but they quickly sat us. We started off with some black bean cakes that were awesome. For dinner I got a cajun pasta dish that was outstanding. I even took leftovers home! Our server cheerily served us. I can't wait to go back and try the potato puff app.

It seems every time I go to Baxter Station I always get the mussels. I promise myself I'll try something different but the mussels are always soooo good I usually cave to their call.

Thanks for the recipe Andrew but for me a great restaurant dish is like a great magic trick... sometimes you just don't want to know how it's done. Just enjoy the outcome!

And this... :?:

glad i could crack you up!!! i re-read the post and thought uh-oh... apparently the majority of the peeps here are either high minded, while ours are somewhere else(???), or they just do not have the sense of humor that we do!!!

The cajun linguine is the BEST! Andouille makes everything better.

I dream about the blackened tilapia over grits.
