Coffee Guinea Pigs Requested

by David Lange » Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:52 pm

Consumers Choice Coffee is about to release our latest in our series of sustainable coffees. I am looking for 5 genuine, dyed in the wool coffee junkies to sample and give me feedback on this particular coffee. The first 5 that PM me will receive a 12oz. ground bag of this special coffee, gift boxed with a card describing it's virtures. Remember the first 5 will receive it and we'll send it after the Derby madness has subsided. Please post your findings on this listing so others can see what they did or didn't miss.

Here's a little fluff on the coffee;
Nueva Granada Guatemala

Nestled near the lavender-blue silouettes of now-dormant volcanoes, Tajumulco and Tacana, Nueva Granada is a deep-green coffee finca in San Marcos, Guatemala. The Rainforest Alliance Certified shade-grown Arabica coffee of Nueva Granada grows high on mountainous slopes in soil made rich by volcanic ash.
A Rainforest Alliance coffee cupping competition winner, Nueva Granada Guatemala is well-balanced, with a fruit-toned acidity, a light syrupy body and mild chocolate finish.

Enjoy!!

I'd more than love being a coffee guinea pig.

I wanted to let everyone know that the 5 guinea pigs have been filled and will receive their complimentary coffee shipped out beginning on Monday. The response was really overwhelming and I really appreciate everyone's response. I am going to try to make this available on a regular basis and I hope everyone eventually will have the opportunity to participate.

Thanks again

When I first read this topic, I thought some "out of towner" had request coffee-marinated guinea pig for a Derby meal. Maybe a new menu idea for someone?

I've been meaning to post about the coffee but have neglected to.

I thought it was wonderful. Not too full bodied, bold or bitter and I liked the faint note of sweetness to the finish.
Even better with my normal addition of cream.
My co-workers have been enjoying it as well!

Thanks so much for letting me try it!

I loved it, as did the staff of the Pig. It was bold, but not over the top with a pleasing fruitiness. The acidity was rather nice, but I can't help but wish I got it as full bean...I can only imagine it would have had loads of little nuances I may have missed.

My sinuses are STILL messed up, and it's been over a week. I still can't taste anything properly. As soon as I can, I plan on drinking the whole pot by myself.

I really want to thank the 5 individuals that sampled and gave their comments on our newest sustainable coffee, Nueva Granada Guatemala. I appreciate the time taken to sample the coffee and write your comments about it. It helps us to further develop other coffee profiles and move ahead with this coffee and make it available to the restaurant and private sector.

I will make our next coffee available soon, and will probably expand it to 10 individuals to sample the product. So be on the lookout for it soon.

Thanks again
