Winston's no longer using Opentable?

by Mark R. » Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:51 am

We haven't been to Winston's in a while but decided to go next month for my birthday. I was surprised to see nothing come up for the day we were looking at as available. Doing some further research I found that Winston's is no longer listed in Opentable. Does anyone know when this happened and what the reason was?

Hi Mark,

Only restaurants who partner with OpenTable are listed on the site. To the best of my knowledge, Winston's has never been a partner, but we would sure love to have them!! We have had many requests for them to get on board and culinary schools do very well with the system. Just give me time....and, in the meantime, If you are ever in Cincinnati you should try 'The Summit' at Midwest Culinary Institute.

Cheers!

As far as I know, Winston's hasn't ever used open table since at least before I started working in the kitchen there (2005). I don't know the specifics of the positives and negatives of opentable (not my area), but if you'd like to make a reservation feel free to call the restaurant number (502-456-0980). Even though we are only open 3 days a week, the phone line is setup to forward to the cell phone of a staff member the other 4 days. They aren't on the clock (paid a set fee to do it vs hourly), so they are doing their day to day business, which means they won't always answer (being students and such). They will call back any messages/missed calls at least twice a day though, and would be more than happy to take your reservation, and I'd love to have you in. Personally, being an internet geek, I would love to be on opentable just because I'm a dork and love all things internet, so hopefully this thread doesn't become a huge opentable vs not debate. You're preaching to the choir.
