Italian lunch near downtown

by Charles W. » Fri Apr 23, 2010 9:51 am

I need to make good on Administrative Assistants day today. Italian seems to be the safest bet. I've taken them to Melillo's in the past (big hit), but that won't work anymore :( . I was all set on Cozza Osteria and Enoteca, but they only serve lunch on Thursday.

Ideas?

How about the new DiFabio's in the old Ray Parrella location? Not sure about Monday, but it's worth a shot.

Great idea, but they're not open for lunch (per the phone call I just made). That looked perfect.

Come Back Inn Jeffersonville. Right over the 2nd St. bridge, Spring and Court.

If we're talking the IN side, Rocky's.

I'll take Come Back Inn over Rocky's. I did recently make my first visit to Rocky's in nearly 7 years after half my party fell ill following my last visit. Food was good but not something to go out of your way for. I live not far from there so I'll probably go back but not often.

Edit: Check Amici on Ormsby.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Under good weather conditions its hard to beat Rocky's terrace overlooking the river and downtown skyline!

Perto's at 5th and Chestnut is nice, and fairly quick.
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

Hello all...Ashley, from Melillo's here. It's been a long time since I've posted, eh? Oddly enough, after we closed, I removed myself from all aspects of the restaurant industry. I guess it's still kind of an open wound, even though live is MUCH less stressful!! When I leave work now, I LEAVE WORK. Mom and Dad, too :) They're spending all kinds of time with grandbabies, and in June, will make their third trip to Florida since we closed 16 months ago. I do miss my customers though, Charles. I keep in touch with a few on facebook, so I'm able to help them keep up their Nana's Italian Dressing addiction, which seems to be missed most :)

I'm glad Come Back Inn was a hit---I haven't been in awhile, but I really need to go see Mark and Gena. The food and service are always great!!

Thanks for missing us :)
