Zoes Kitchen

Just got back from lunch and I must say (even though it's a chain) it was quite good. Dishes are freshly prepared, seem pretty healthy. For their second day of business they were slammin' and keeping up with the lunch crowd well. It's a nice addition to downtown.

DH had the chicken salad sampler - chicken salad, potato salad, cole slaw and pasta salad with pita triangles. I had the grilled feta with caramelized onions. Each had a drink, total $20.57. The credit card runs with no signature required and also no tip, as it's basically fast food.

Good to hear. I work in the same building, and plan to try it this week. This patio seating is a nice touch as well, as there is very little of that downtown outside of 4th Street Live.

I got carry out there today and got back to the office only to discover that my order was wrong. Bummer. What I ended up with was pretty good (the chicken club pita) just not really my cup of tea. (Someone in the office referred to it as a grilled double down in a pita - that's pretty accurate.) I also had a side of the white beans which were a little heavy with the rosemary, but tasty nonetheless. They were a bit disorganized so I wasn't too surprised that my order was wrong. I think once they get the kinks worked out that this will be a good addition to the area. I'm sure I'll be back after a while and give them another try. My only real gripe is the excessive use of styrofoam, even for dishes that were being served to those dining in. With all the alternative carry out containers, I just don't get the continued use of styrofoam. Yes, I know, it's cheaper. . .

They are also opening another at the Summit. Interesting concept.

Summit Location is now open!

Anyone been there yet? I'm thinking of taking kids tonight.

Not to the Summit, but I've eaten at the downtown location a few times. It's always pretty good - the chicken rollups are nice.
