Brownies and Ice Cream

by MarieP » Fri Apr 16, 2010 11:31 pm

What's your favorite place to indulge in this dessert? My top three (an eclectic mix) are Meridian Cafe, Texas Roadhouse, and Steak and Shake (surprisingly so, though I wish it were larger!)

I also remember a pre-packaged brownie ice cream sandwich from the store, but I haven't seen it in years. It's probably cheaper to make my own brownies and buy a quart of ice cream anyway!

Marie, as a professional eater, I rarely get to enjoy both brownies and ice cream together. Portion control (and lots of exercise) is the key to survival for a professional eater who does not wish to resemble the Goodyear Blimp. ;-)

But looking at your list, I'd go with Meridian sight unseen. Chef Ross does good stuff over there.

I'll probably get murdered for saying this..but the Blondie at Applebees is really good. I'm all for anything covered in maple cream and ice cream!

The Comfy Cow. Hands down. No ifs ands or buts.

They even have a flavor called "Brownie Points" that is brownie chunks and chocolate ice cream pre-mixed.

Yum.

Avalon followed by The Comfy Cow.

The chocolate tasting at Avalon usually features a brownie-like item and ice cream.

+1 definitely one of the best ice cream flavors around! Almost as good as the sundae in a to-go package.

Love both Avalon (current version has spicy Mexican chocolate sauce!) and Steak & Shake . . . still have to try Comfy Cow.
