Thanks...I've had the Pho at Vietnam Kitchen.

I'm looking for Chinese...not Vietnamese.

Brad K:

From your link, the pic is from 'Big Wong' in Chinatown, NYC and that is definitely one of my favorite place when I am there. It is a typical Cantonese noodle soup with wonton noodle, wonton and chinese style BBQ pork that is roasted and not grilled. You may find it at Oriental House on Shelbyville Rd.

Yep...that's why I linked to it. NYC is home and Big Wing Wong is one of my many go-to places in Chinatown. Next time you're there, stop in right next door at Shanghai Cafe for awesome Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings)!

Thanks for the recommendation.

Call and ask Emperor(ess?) of China . . . the one in Holiday Manor Shopping Center at the 42/22 intersection. It's not on the current menu, but they used to have a wonderful version (and I believe will still make it if desired). I'd just call and ask first to be sure.

The "Big Bowl" at Oriental House on Shelbyville Rd. might feed your Jones.
The make a very nice, clean flavored dish. Not exactly what your looking for but maybe a close second?

I tried the pork soup this weekend from Jade Palace and it was just ok. I'm not saying it was prepared poorly, it could have been a perfectly prepared, as it was my first bowl of pork soup. It was super "clean", almost to the point of being bland. After a splash of soy sauce and chili paste, it was awesome.

I tried it the day it was recommended. Not at all what I had in mind.

But I got back to NYC last week and got my fix :)

Brad, there are three pork soups at Jasmine: Za Cai Roast Pork Soup, Pork Belly Soup and Yu Tou Pork Rib Soup. The are all authentic Chinese. You might talk to Lan, the FOH half owner, to see which is closest to you desire. They also serve many clay and hot pots.
