Oaks/Derby Box lunches?

by Melissa Richards-Person » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:26 am

I did a search, and the last post on this topic was from last year, and I didn't see it in the other Oaks/Derby thread, so I thought I'd open up the gates to ask "who is doing Oaks & Derby box lunches this year? We got ours from the Patron last year, so we need to find another interesting option....

Joe Davola's! Went there Monday, out-friggin-standing sandwiches.. I believe they mentioned box lunches in the pinned Derby thread at the top of the Louisville Restaurants Forum.

..Thanks Adam... I must have missed you. Hope all is well mate.

Melissa.

We are doing the box lunch as Adam mentioned. We're putting everything in a clear bag and have run it by Churchill Downs. You should have no trouble taking them in.

You can order ahead on our website @ www.joedavolas.com or just call us. I'd love to see you and Tom in here too.

Good luck at the track

C~

I know Jimmy & Amy are doing them at Butchers Best in Prospect. I want to say $7.95? Anyway, sign is in the window or give 'em a buzz.

I took my mother, we were in and out pretty quick. She's the one who ordered the ham and swiss with no swiss and no something else and added mayo. Someone joked that she was ruining the integrity of the sandwich, and I agreed. I had the roast beef which was very good. I guess it was around 2pm, I should've mentioned I was from the LHB forum... but don't worry, I'll be back!
