It appears to be a national company that produces local editions of its magazine. I notice Sarah Fritschner is listed as the local editor.

Nope, but I'm glad you shared.

The "PLEASURE OF EATING" article was fantastic.

Neat.

Edible LOUISVILLE is a community-based bi-monthly publication that promotes the abundance of local foods, season by season. Our mission is to: “Transform the way our community shops, eats and appreciates food that is grown and prepared in the local region.” Through our flagship publication and our website, we connect consumers with local growers, retailers, chefs, and food artisans, enabling those relationships to grow and thrive in mutually beneficial, healthy and economically viable ways.

Carmichael's has free copies of the first edition, I picked one up yesterday and was going to post about it today. Very nice profile of Judy Schand and some interesting articles. It looks like it might turn into a well thought out overview of the local food scene. I was happy to see Sarah on the masthead.

It's actually a "franchise" of sorts that you buy into. You get the magazine format, the web access and referrals from the web, and you pay a portion of your ad revenue. I actually found it the first time when Tom and I were in Kauai. We visted two places - a cacao plantation and a tapas restaurant - strictly on features in the magazine, and loved both experiences. Recently found it in New York, and again the recommendations were dead-on. The goal is for each edition to be truly reflective of what is going on in the local food community. I'd looked into starting it here, but didn't have the funds. Glad someone did! You can subscribe if you want to support the venture.

Loved it!! Great reading- truly local content. ( not like local/national mags that are mostly canned content.)
PS. Ivor at Grasshoppers was handing out free copies with purchase at the Bardstown Farmer's Market.
