I live in Lyndon, not on goose creek, when I say 'this area,' I mean this neighborhood! Although Jimmy and Richies is under new management and I havent been there since the changeover, they used to have the funk...

Let me put this another way. Think WW Cousins on steroids. You wouldnt pay $8 for some of that goodness? I'll be there opening day.

Stephen,

Okay, you got me with the WW Cousins on steroids. You are right- I'll have to check it out. :D

All,
I asked when I went for lunch this week and was told the Springhurst location was closing for the changeover at the end of the month, or early Feb. Westport Village location to open Feb. 16th.

to be honest Im not a huge fan of the Bristol burger, I just mentioned it because I know many here regard it as a good burger. Goose Creeks Cheeseburgers (Standard or Frisco) are both quite good, nice juiciness and good quality bacon (if you order the bacon) and paired with waffle fries and some creek sauce for them, its as good as any Ive had in town.

I avoided mentioning 5 guys because the meter of "safe to mention chains/death to chain mentioners" has been swinging wildly in this thread and I didnt want to fan flames one way or another. Also, I tend to avoid The Summit.

Brian Curl wrote:Stephen, notice my out (not impossible). I agree, anything can become a destination and that is proven by many establishments. Heck, a taco trailer, close to Fern Creek has become a destination for many on this site. I went there Saturday and ate in a tent with a kerosene heater when it was like 18 degrees outside. I had to put my gloves on the folding steel chair because the chair was so cold. Heck, the food was good and made it a great experience, I felt like I was roughing it. lol Thankfully, I'm one of the lucky ones and only live a few miles away from this destination.

Anyway, it's just my opinion but I believe Boombozz Pizza has a better future at that location than a Boombozz burger place. I might be wrong but that's my opinion.

And this is a forum for opinions...by all means express them! At least you speak your mind. Shoot, I just think about all the pizza places within softball's throw and think a nice burger joint would be cool. I mean, we have Choi's, Mi Patria, Impellizeri's, Pizza by the Guy,Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa's, Gattis, Jade Palace, Napa, Hiko, Indigo Joe's, Joe's older than Dirt, Jimmy n Richies, Starving Artist, the whole mall thing I never go to...the Carnarita is close. Selena's is close. Limestone, R place (killer lunch specials.) I know I'm missing someone... it just seems to me another pizza becomes that...another pizza. Gourmet Burgers, now, that's something we don't have. We have solid burgers, Joe's and Jimmy and Richies come to mind, but some good craft burgers, no.

Simply my 2 coppers, lol!

EDIT: I DID miss someone- Corner Cafe!

LIke the Sears building, it has since left, but has been replaced by another dive. It's right across from Mi Patria, that little dive that used to be the liquor store back in the day.

My friends and I still call it Jimmy and Richie's though...

Any word on what happened to the Boom Burger? The spot where it was supposed to go has been for lease for a few months now.

Don't forget about White Castle right across the street. I think that might be the plan, a direct assault on the White Castle Empire!

My bet is that someone will get their senses and this location will never be a burger joint. If they make that mistake they'll be gone within a year or two.

Make no mistake, I like Boombozz, their food and I think this is a beautiful restaurant and have always had good experiences there but it's hard to make burgers a destination (I didn't say impossible).

they came to their senses...
