First let me say Leah that I really admire anybody that has the courage to go into business for themself and then double that for people that go into the restaurant biz or anything that has to do with food. I doubt that the general public has any idea how extremely demanding the field is.

Having said that, I think many small business owners forget aspects figuring their food costs. Yes, Sams has great prices but you have to add to their prices the cost of your gas (peeking at $3 gal now!) to get there and back , not to mention your time away from your business to pick it up. For a business like yours where your skill and talent are essential to making the order a success, when you are away running errands and doing minutia your business could suffer. So how much did that bag of sugar really cost you?

I guess I meant to say that White Castles are the worst hamburgers that are still barely edible for me. The best hamburgers for me are regular-sized ones where I can get the meat cooked just right (medium or medium-well) and the exact toppings of my choosing.

Well, Steve, I'm too small to get delivery from the big wholesalers, so even when I purchase from Dawn, I still have to go to their Will Call to pick it up (Grantline Road.) I set aside one day per week where I don't see customers and run all the errarnds. Sometimes its the only day I get out of the kitchen, so I look forward to it!

I avoid anything by Bim Dietrich. He was rude to me and will never, ever get a cent of my money.

But you all can have my 2 cents.

sounds like some don't go because of service and some because of food quality. I'll tell you I am much more likely to give the food a second chance!! If the staff act like they couldn't care less that I am there, then I take my money somewhere else!!

Leah if it works for you, and it sounds like it does, then I understand why you would do it.
