My previous post sounds a little rude, but architecture is something I'm passionate about.

I'm not an architecture expert, but I do like the Humana Building and sometimes suspect that Grave was having a little fun with the Gotham look that may have sailed over the heads of his corporate sponsors.

I do not like the Kentucky International Convention Center, however. I don't like it at all. I do like Slugger Field - can a baseball field qualify as architecture, if it adaptively reuses a 19th century factory building?

Hey, how about the YUM for 21st century style? When its days as an arena are over, it can be recycled as World HQ for Airstream trailers.

Wish Phil would have hung around long enough to give us his take on THAT behemoth. I could try to do my best impression if you like 8)

Personally, I think it looks more like a toaster oven, or possibly a multi-function printer/fax/scanner. But yes. It's bush-league architecture, and that was BEFORE they plastered Yum neon all over it. If Phil wants to dis Louisville, the Chicken Bucket and the downtown convention center would have been much more logical places to start. Come to think of it, I might put the Marriott Downtown into that same hall of architectural shame. It certainly demonstrates one good way NOT to salvage historic building facades. :P

Back when they first opened the Humana Building they gave public tours and I vividly remember my 2 year old son having a heated dicussion with the tour guide about one of the statues ...he kept touching it saying "ROCK" and she kept telling him it was a reproduction of some fancy roman statue but what we were amazed with is that she had this discussion with a 2 year old.

I have not read all the comments, but did not want to start a new thread. First, the people who built this restaurant had a sound/structural engineer. They had a curved ceiling backed by tiles and teak or some kind of wood in an intricate bended pattern which diffused the noise. If you are unaware of sound engineering, try going into August Moon and speaking to your table of 5.

Eddie's has a nice look and great lighting. Our meal was delightful, if not a bit overpriced. We took advantage of the $25 gift certificates mailed to our home. I LOVED the black and blue scallops. Very rich, but perfect if you order the brussels sprouts sides which blended perfectly. My DH enjoyed his sea bass.

Lots of folks are comparing this place to Jefff Ruby's. In fact, there were at least 10 people there who came from Ruby's. IMHO,this place has a better menu. A vegetarian would have no problem here. I love that they have brussels sprouts as well as onions and jalapenos as side orders. Great menu. Our server, Greg, knew that we were eating sparse but treated us amazingly. I loved the vibe in there.

In short, I will return for special occasions, but find iut a bit pricey. I look forward to taking our clients here. The happy hour bar menu is a fabulous deal...$5.95 appetizers and discounted drinks. Great concept.

As a vegetarian I'd have problem eating there as my options would be salad or over priced sides dishes. No thanks.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.
