Sorry! I was trying to reword my statement as we both typed!!

I believe the author was attempting to point out even Chains have benefits; like employing dozens of people.

~ People are starting to claim Boombozz a Chain. Is it suddenly less good for the economy than before they added another store? We've all talked about this Ad nauseam ; it depends on where the $$$ ends. That's my judgment. Are places, even though they are a chain, contributing to neighborhoods at the same time sending $$$ out of state?

Sure they do, but they also make it hard for independents to survive. I'll eat at a chain every now and then, but Cheddars is a few steps below McDonalds in my book.

Come on, really, please. You don't want to discuss this AGAIN? Benefits and harms of Chains...etc. Because, I don't want to get into this same topic. I was only pointing out what I thought the author was attempting to do in the article.

I don't care if we discuss it or not.

I made a comment on the article because it was praising how great chains were for the economy. As you stated both sides have been discussed at length. I take the side that bigger (chains) is not always better. And when Cheddars is being praised in any way, something is wrong. I hate the place. I've been three times and have had bad service and food every time.

I was just expressing my opinion of Cheddars and chains. You comment on my opinion, thus the discussion.

He's not saying Cheddar's sucks because it's a chain, he's saying it sucks because of their product.

I'm sure even "pro-chain" people as they were would not like every single chain.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Good luck to Tony and his creative venture. I can feel trying to push outside of one's own 'formula.' Also, this area is quite saturated with pizza, but lacks some darn tasty handmade burgers, IMO.

I have to chime up at the backhanded remark here. The 10 to 15 active persons? Really? And where have you been? Now, it is understood that I am one to defend the house and I certainly consider this home. So I hope you will pardon me when I retort to such a remark here, on this public forum, that is read by thousands of both average joes and industry types in the city.

Active doesn't mean squat. Yeah there are some that post more than others. But then there are types, like you that got a hundred or two under their belts. May post occasionally, may post quite infrequently. It doesn't make anyone wrong or right. Do what you want... it is all opinion, as yours is.

My issue is the fact that you discredit the validity of the opinions expressed here, as if they aren't valid. Or that you know better. These are opinions and yours carries the same weight as anyone else's. You do not attack the house!

This is a community, unlike any other that I have personally seen (show me a more vibrant culture and I'll eat those words.) The repute placed upon it is well earned, over time. I have personally seen this before in my life... you can become the best (be it at a video game, professionally, or even chasing the pretty girl,) by very virtue of you being the front-runner, you have to deal with these accusations of 'elitism.' Poppycock. You were the same thing you were when it all started out, just now you have a target on your back. Anything you say or do is analyzed under a microscope, every innocent statement becomes a public tribunal. It becomes easy for people to say you are elitist, like you just did.

I would ask you to please reconsider your position on this, as I think you are quite misconceived. But then, who am I to argue... just another voice in the cacophany that is the LouisvilleHotbytes culture.

EDIT: If they could figure out a way to deliver those burgers... game over, as far as I am concerned...

I thought you had to be over 70 to use the term " Poppycock".
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

while they may or may not be "handmade" Turkey Joes shares the parkinglot with the boombozz location, Goose Creek Diner is less than 1000 yards away, and you can be at the Hurstbourne Bristol in less that 5 minutes. I wouldnt say the area is lacking tasty burgers.

I never thought about Goose Creek for burgers, how do they stack up to the others you mentioned?

Don't forget 5 Guys at the Summit. Their burgers may not be hand-made, but they are good.

Don't forget about White Castle right across the street. I think that might be the plan, a direct assault on the White Castle Empire!

My bet is that someone will get their senses and this location will never be a burger joint. If they make that mistake they'll be gone within a year or two.

Make no mistake, I like Boombozz, their food and I think this is a beautiful restaurant and have always had good experiences there but it's hard to make burgers a destination (I didn't say impossible).

I would beg to differ. If it is done right, I think ANYTHING can become a destination.

I live in Lyndon, not on goose creek, when I say 'this area,' I mean this neighborhood! Although Jimmy and Richies is under new management and I havent been there since the changeover, they used to have the funk...

Let me put this another way. Think WW Cousins on steroids. You wouldnt pay $8 for some of that goodness? I'll be there opening day.

Stephen, notice my out (not impossible). I agree, anything can become a destination and that is proven by many establishments. Heck, a taco trailer, close to Fern Creek has become a destination for many on this site. I went there Saturday and ate in a tent with a kerosene heater when it was like 18 degrees outside. I had to put my gloves on the folding steel chair because the chair was so cold. Heck, the food was good and made it a great experience, I felt like I was roughing it. lol Thankfully, I'm one of the lucky ones and only live a few miles away from this destination.

Anyway, it's just my opinion but I believe Boombozz Pizza has a better future at that location than a Boombozz burger place. I might be wrong but that's my opinion.
