Car fatalities do not have exponential growth, flus do. A few weeks back ~10000 children nationwide were out with flu-like symptoms, 65000+ the next week. One person can expose many creating a rapid growth in cases.

CNN just reported a few minutes ago that H1N1 is already abating in several parts of the country. Unfortunately they didn't name those parts of the country.

I've already had my flu shot and will get the other one as soon as available. I sure don't want the flue of any kind.

Until the H1N1 becomes as fatal as the seasonal flu - which is 36,000 per year - I will not get panicy. I will continue to be cautious, just as I have with seasonal. What is going to cause problems is people swamping the Emergency Departments with minor symptoms and IF the H1N1 gets bad, the resouces will be stretched extemely thin.

According to NPR story today, with seasonal flu 90% of deaths are people over 65. With H1N1, 90% of deaths are people under 65.

I was diagnosed with the seasonal flu this morning and, now, I wish I would've listened to my mother and gotten the flu shot weeks ago. Also, I had to wear a mask at the urgent care center. Better safe than sorry!
