At least use your own name. I think we could agree on at least that one bit of honesty.

Bob - most of the industry folks are announcing specials or events and they ask Robin's permission to post (most of the time! :D ). Do consider putting some of your advertising $$ to buying space on Hot Bytes and continue to post your specials and events. A lot of the owners also post regarding their thoughts and philosphies about the food service industry that the rest of us have found very enlightening. Just putting a "spamish" plug for your place out there will turn off a lot of folks. You may not mean it that way, but it is very hard to get voice inflection and pride into the keystrokes.

I for one will come out and try your product next time I am in your neck of the woods.

Actually, I don't mind since it certainly identifies the writer, but just curious.

Normally I would have held them up at the pass and asked for a real name, but since Home Run Burgers was under attack, when the company registered, I didn't think it would be fair to make them wait. However, if Mr. or Ms. Burgers is looking on, I'd prefer to change the company name to an individual's name, if they'll contact me by private message or email at rgarr@louisvillehotbytes.com

I usually do not like to get into the "discussions" that happen on the board, but i feel very strongly about this one.

I think it was a bit of an UNwelcome welcome. IMO he did not hijack the thread, this thread had last been posted on June 11th, he posted on July 11th. A LOT of people/restaurants post what they have going on, promotions, new dishes, new menus, etc. Yes, i believe they ask Robin first and most state so in their post. Bob is new, maybe he didn't know how those things were handled, and just needed to be informed. As for his name of Home Run Burgers, it was approved by Robin so i don't think he should be jumped on for that either. Again, maybe he didn't know that we go by a first name basis here.

As for me, welcome Bob and would love to hear your input on the forum it is a fun and INFORMATIVE place to be. :D :D :D

Becky, I did not know everyone used their first names, so I have e-mailed Robin back to charge my sign in name and real name to bob kiper.
Thanks for your comments----I am learning how a forum works.

Becky, I think the problem I had is one of many others use of the thread was about a different restaurants so Bob's post was off topic. I looked at the thread to find out what was going on with the new restaurant in the Summit, not for information about a different restaurant. If he had started a new thread about Home Run Burgers I wouldn't have thought about it in the least.

Now that we've got that over, I want to see welcome to Bob. Like many others I plan on trying out his restaurant soon!

Bob, thanks for being so understanding! For some reason I didn't get your Email, but based on this post, I'll change you to Bob Kiper now ... you don't have to type the capital letters when you log in, but the space between first and last name is mandatory.
