Dry-aged but not USDA-graded, as I recall. Still, it's good beef. But I'd rather have Green River Kentucky steaks from Doll's, myself, or Southern Indiana local beef from Preferred Meats (or Stonecross or DreamCatcher from Kentucky when farmer's markets are in session), and never mind the age or the grade

I get the Green River at Doll's as well.

BTW is St. Elmo's (sic) still open in Indianapolis? Back in the 80's we would drive up there to eat shrimp cocktail and steak before a Pacer's game.

St. Elmo's is still up and running. My hubby used to live there before we married and we have enjoyed their shrimp cocktail and excellent steaks a few times as well.

Great feedback, gang. I really appreciate it. Even though the topic of the thread was great steak restaurants, I didn't mean to imply we were looking only at steakhouses. We are open to more diverse venues that happen to serve an excellent cut of meat. That being said, we are both big fans of filet, so at this point we are leaning toward Del Frisco's, Jack Fry's (the filet sounds unbelievable), or a return trip to Ruby's.

Like most decisions in our household, she will probably make the final call. ;) I'll keep you posted.

Ha, this is why I neither stay married nor in a relationship. I just cannot seem to let the woman make all the decisions. I want compromise, but it doesn't happen. Alas, such is life.

I shall go eat a fantastic steak somewhere soon. I think Pat's or Ruby's shall suffice.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.
