Drug abuse and alcoholism is all over in my family. I've heard every excuse in the book. I've seen family member after family member screw up and blame it on their disease, over and over, excuse after excuse. I don't buy it. I think they should be held accountable. Nobody put a gun to their head and made them take a drink. Nobody forced them to do drugs. I enjoy the occasional drink (although not now, because I'm pregnant), but I have ALWAYS made sure there will be someone sober to drive my friends and I around. Be accountable for your actions. Take responsibility for yourself. That shouldn't be too much to ask, but it is. That's why there are roadblocks.

You know, I don't think we're ever going to agree on this one. It's been a healthy discussion, but a lot of us bring strong opinions to the table, based on our own diverse and varied backgrounds, personal experiences and those of family and friends.

Since we aren't going to get a consensus, shall we all just agree to respect each other, sit down at the table together and enjoy what we do have in common, specifically our shared enjoyement of good food and drink?... all in moderation, of course. 8)

If someone were to be willing to drive me to and fro, I could skip out on that moderation idea.

Village Anchor sounds good to me. It has been far too long since we've joined you fine folks for an offline!

FYI, Worldfest is that weekend and tends to big a pretty big "foodie" event.

Hmmmm...I checked the Worldfest schedule and didn't see any vendors listed as serving up free pulled pork and ribs, cole slaw, baked beans, tater salad, watermelon and refreshing desert. So maybe we could hold our own...who knows. Thanks a bunch for the "heads up" though, we'll give it some thought before we pull the trigger on this thing.

Maybe we can get something going here, the only issue being that they'll probably be slammed after two good reviews. Let me get in touch with April and see what she says about reserving a section of the Lanai, maybe, with sufficient notice. That would be a very good way to resolve some of the discussion points made in this thread. ;)

Not getting much commentary on my review, by the way. Geez, you leave out one German philosopher and nobody reads it ...

I read it and I liked the review. The wife and I first experience was unfavorable and finding out they have finger bowles explained alot.

Well, Robin, I just read it. And I thought to myself, "sounds elegant! Not what I imagined at all based on the other positions!". Made me want to go there, for sure. And not to pick on Steve, but I really like huge fans pointed straight at me on hot summer day - my summer life is surrounded by a lack of air-conditioning and massive fannage, at home, work, seems like everywhere. I also usually have my first beer before leaving home for dinner out, so a little wait for the first ordered bev usually doesn't bother me much either. Bad service for me normally has to do with arrogance or general dipshittedness.

I guess I should be posting this on the OTHER thread - I'm confused. ~sorry. Maybe I should copy and paste?
