I KNEW IT... I just KNEW you would bring up the Hopkinsville thing! Well Mr."I've traveled the whole county far and wide"... some of us have been to Waddy... and back! And soon my plans are for much more visionary trips to far off exotic lands like Cave City. And when my passport is renewed I might even travel... yes... ACROSS THE RIVER TO SOUTHERN INDIANA!! (I hear they have a fantastic new restaurant in a place called New Albany.)
OK so there's lots of winkin' going on with this post and I trust my dear friend Mr. Greenup doesn't mind a playful poke in the ribs from me at his expense. Seriously, I think most of us are fairly well traveled.

Before being placed in the witness protection program I had been to a lot of places...Mostly in South America. My handler says I can't talk about them any more though.

Not MY name....I was referring to all the high-falutin' place names in Kentucky what you frequent...

You guys have nothing to brag about until you can say that you have been to Possom Trot or Monkey's Eyebrow.

Hey, there used to be an excellent winery at Possum Trot! (The one in Brown County Indiana.)

Better drop some breadcrumbs across the bridge - that's really the badlands over there from what I hear.

Nah, and we don't care about passports, either. If you're determined to be of use to us, we'll just trap you and keep you. If not, it's off to Birdseye or Gnaw Bone with you. And for the record, I'd prefer either to Jeff Ruby's but that may be due to my own bar dice experiences- we do that over here, too, if you know where to look.

Well I don't want to be the one who drove ol' Phil outta town. I can't believe he would high-tail it back to the promised land based on one lame ass comment. I was only responding in jest to his attack on me when I disagreed with him and now I don't even remember what it was. That's why I used the term "hi- falutin'." It was a JOKE. HYPERBOLE. Of course it was ridiculous to say something like that on a food forum. Come on people, give me a little credit.

Anyway, I should have just ignored his Louisville-bashing posts since they always got me all "het up." That is what I dislike about his comments, not that he's so "worldly." I think most people on this forum are just as well-traveled, well-read, and "falutin'" as Phil, if not more so. Hail, hi-faluters! I salute ye! (And if you're from Waddy, you know the HAIL is really a different word than what is spelled out.)

OK, good night all. I'm an insomniac tonight.

There have been no "Louisville bashing" posts from me. However, there have been a ton of personal attacks on me, young lady. My Bardstown Road suggestions were to provide some objective opinions on how to improve the aesthetics of one of Louisville's major restaurant and shopping streets. That is not bashing, as you so put it. My description of Jeff Ruby's, which is out of Cincinnati by the way, had nothing to do with Louisville. I would like you to point out which one of my statements "bashed" Louisville or anyone personally on this forum. Before you take the time to slander someone, I would check what exactly was written in order to have validity and acumen to the points you are attempting to make. In your defensiveness and supposed attempt at humor, (high-falutin = As a former English instructor I would have certainly circled this in red and told you to use a Thesaurus. I recommend Rogets)
you may have done Louisville more of a disservice then any suggestions I might have made on this forum. Now, I am done defending myself. It is fait accompli.

Just for the record, an alleged written defamation is libel, not slander (which is oral defamation).

We now return to our regularly-scheduled postings... (*wink*)

As you can see, I am not too "high falutin" to learn from my mistakes. The only way I passed French class was bring a dozen roses to Miss Severin the day before report cards were due. I have corrected my errors.
