Anyone remember when they had Indy's East on Frankfort Ave? It was right next to Ray Parella's where Java is now. Loved the wedges and the spicy chicken.

Mick's Atlanta

by Eliza W » Sun May 06, 2007 12:58 pm

To the person who asked about Mick's. Unfortunately, I have to visit Atlanta a lot, so I can verify that the Midtown location is still around. I don't care for it very much, but to each his own.

We could use a Pollo Tropical here. A plate of rice, beans, and plantains makes good take-out food when you want a fast food fix.

Gray's Papaya (from NYC - best cheap meal you can get there!)

What-a-Burger: My roots are in North Carolina and I used to love this place. Of course, it's probably gone to seeds now.

As stated on another thread, I wouldn't mind seeing a Jack in the Box here.

When I was touring Civil War sites in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas, I happened upon a small chain called Rib Crib. Instead of relying on sauces for flavor, they rely on the meat, which is served without sauce. You add their excellent sauces at your table. http://www.ribcrib.com

And I'm probably going to be made fun of for this, but I'd love to see a Rainforest Cafe. Mom likes their Mojo bones and I like their jambalaya. I've always wanted one of their volcanos, but never had.

Really? I haven't had it for years, but I recall it as decent but average Midwestern-style pizza, akin to, say, Clifton's or Wick's.

Joe Bologna's used to be wonderful in the late 80s/early 90s. Their antipasto salad was superb. From what I understand, the establishment went very much downhill (and I thought had closed, but maybe I'm wrong..)

Canyon Cafe in St. Louis is wonderful. Great southwestern food, the chips and salsa are hot and addictive (hot from the fryer). It became a favorite for us last summer.

Dan,

You bring back memories. I lived there in the early 90's. Eating chili over rice, poi, tako and spear fishing off of Nanakuli.
