Man boobs is worth a ban? (I spit on the screen when I saw the shirt)

I guess we won't discuss circus food and the bearded lady.

Oh, boy, circus food!

Generally speaking, to earn a ban, one must show a consistent and ongoing pattern of dorkishness. To get ejected over a single post, it would have to be a lot more spectacular than "man boobs."

I collect penguins. I've avoided Pokemon as much as possible, but a penguin Pokemon is a good thing. It was a fun day up at Origins in Columbus.

WHat can I say, before Sunday, I loved Rainforest Cafe. I've been to those in Disney World, Kansas City, Baltimore, Seattle, and West Chicago.

Too many people are afraid of being judged, so they crap on those who dare to point out something is wrong. So, comments like "man boobs" just tells me the cretin who said it is jealous of me, which is understandable.

Bedford: You may not have the deftest touch with kids, but you are a unique dude. Clearly, you don't give a wit about conforming to society's expectations, and I respect the hell out of that. People like you keep this planet interesting. Rock on.

Who cares about a chain in another city anyway?
If Bedford tried to intimidate my kids I would have him removed as well. The restaurant acted appropriately.
The food is over priced and at the very best mediocre. Why Bedford is proud of eating at Rainforest cafe in so many cities is beyond me. Every city listed has great restaurants, so why settle for crappy chain food? You didn't like it fine. You feel you were treated unfairly, some of us parents beg to differ. It is time that this thread move on.

One of the finest and funniest books of all time.

All I did was ask for the kid to shut up. I didn't even stand up; I just turned around. If that's what you call intimidation, then you have a rather weak definition of it. The only ones really trying to intimidate were the three pieces of white trash that stood up to surround me because they thought it was cute that the brat was being a brat. I wasn't intimidated, I got a free meal (that may have caused me to throw up all day Tuesday), and I have a reason to try different restaurants the next time I'm at Downtown Disney or Animal Kingdom.

A local restaurant would be more adversely affected if they mistreated me than if a Nashville restaurant did; after all, I can do better word of mouth against it, while against Nashville, I can only hope for web searches to do the job for me.

BTW, I wasn't bragging about going to all those different locales; I mentioned them to show how much of an aberration this situation was.

Yes, a man telling a kid to "shut up" is an act of aggression. Had you chose more appropriate language it may have been different. If you told my kids to "shut up" I would tell you that I don't use that language with my kids and you will not either. "Shut up" is a phrase that is inapproriate. If you have something to say about my kids you can address me. The I would tell you if you said anotheord to my children I would have you removed.

The sorry thing is, you don't see where you were wrong. The restaurant acted appropriately. The PARENTS should have been more in control of their kids. If you feel the kids were inappropriate, you should have gone to the management and had them address it with the parents. As a "southern gentleman" you should have used more tact.

I agree with Kurt 100%, and will add -- for the final time -- that debating Bedford's position is one thing (there's so much there to carve to ribbons), but posting a photo of him and essentially abusing his appearance while using terms like "man boobs" is just as bad. Some here don't seem to grasp that point. They should try.

1) I wasn't wrong; I was the victim.
2) If you gave me that crap, I'd tell you to shut up too. If you continued to disrespect me, I might teach the kid a few new words in the English language to repeat ad infintum.

Clearly, neither side of this argument is going to "see the light" regardless of the depths, or lack thereof, of one's vocabulary.

I really enjoy reading most of the topics on this forum, but I find it mildly interesting, in a bad way, that the thread that has received the most attention lately is basically reduced to middle school humor and arguing over whether "shut up" is appropriate language to hurl at children.
