Jackie, I don't know if you will read this or not, but I misinformed you, and everyone else reading this, with regard to the tasting I will be doing at Nita's Package Liquors. The tasting will, in fact, be Thursday, 1/17 from 4-6. Sorry for the confusion. Hope to see you there.

Hey, I don't really post here often but I do use this site see what is happening in Louisville & enjoy reading the posts.

When I worked at the brown hotel in the ninety's with Joe Castro we put on some awesome beer, wine & cheese festivals. At that point I thought I was a fairly well rounded beer drinker (in the belly & the mind) until I had Celabrator Doppelbock & a Chimay Grand Reserve. Freakin' delicious.

Them's were some good times, them's were some good beers.

Thanks for letting me wax,

Nathan in Oregon

i'm considering getting some great cheese to offer at the pizza company
to be specifically paired with beers

but
i just got the Allagash Cureaux in today
and tried it for the first time

a belgian tripel aged in jim beam barrels for 8 weeks then transferred to steel, then to bottle for the final aging and fermenting

golden (less color than i expected from the barrels)
sweet, vanilla, bourbony light caramel finish, alcohol is mellow and in the nose more than the taste (11% ABV)
there is a lot going on in this beer

oh- beer karma comes to pass

this past sunday (you can't get carry out in IN on sunday) a new customer of ours brought me a six pack of the ever elusive FAT TIRE
which is not available east of the big river (except Chicago)

not extreme, but extremely hard to come by
