Correct. He wasn't a charisma kind of guy, but he was honest and direct and actually made things happen. He had that kind of PRish slogan about making downtown a place for people to "work, live and play," but in my opinion he made it happen, focusing on getting residential development in, getting the Waterfront Park seriously rolling, and making sure Slugger Field happened. He had much more to do with turning downtown around - with the results we're really starting to see now - than the Mayor for Life.

I definitely would support this and I also believe that the city manager or mayor should not have the power to act alone like Mayor Fischer and Abramson did. Anything they agree to should require legislative approval.

Dont forget what the Skate Park was SUPPOSED to be. Dont get me wrong, what is there is great but just think it's only half finished compared to what was planned.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

Well, Dave left and Jerry came back, and I never had a feeling that Jerry really embraced the skate park. More like he felt like he was stuck with it, but it scared him a little. :?

Jerry was just TOO MUCH of a politician. He just never wanted to rock the boat too much, he wanted to keep as many people as happy as possible. Then in his last term tried to do get "daring" and well...
