Hotbytes Potluck Dinner to Benefit Dare to Care - 11/14/10

There hasn't been much action here so I thought that in addition to bringing all of the chafing dishes, I was going to prepare a big ole' pan of Hot Brown Casserole and Colleen will be making some sort of dessert. I hope to see you all there!!!!

I'm still bummed that it's so late in the afternoon, making it run into a pre-existing engagement of long standing for Mary and me. We'll wish everyone well, but I had hoped it was going to be earlier in the day. There's no chance we can make it, but "Wait until next year!"

One week to go! Hoping to see alot of old and new friends at the pot luck! Please don't be shy about coming on out for an excellent cause. We promise that every food and/or monetary donation will go to people who need it! All of us have reason to share our humanity with others so come be a part of the Hotbytes family!

We aren't going to be able to make it, had a few unexpected things come up this morning and Tim has to work tonight...completely thrown off our weekend! Sure it will be fun and we'll try for the next gathering!

Steve A and I are running safety checks on the cheesecakes. Drop both of them at my house and we will inspect them very carefully. It may take multiple samplings to verify their edibility but we are willing to sacrafice ourselves for the greater good.

(Becky Pearson makes the BEST DAMN Cheese Cake on the planet! Steve helps a little, too.)

After kinda reviewing what other folks were bringing, I decided go with a spiral sliced ham as opposed to my original dish....Becky will still bring the Stuffed Cabbages and the Cheese Cake

Do we have a volunteer to bring rolls and butter ?

Oh, Steve, that sounds wonderful. My week is getting totally stressed out. Please, please let me bring the rolls and butter. - gayle

Pork loin...could use a spot to keep warm if possible

We will be bringing a pot of beef stew and cornbread.
Oh and a big fork for Becky's cheesecake.

OK...OK...I changed my mind again.

Seems like we're good on entree's, so I'll forgo the sliced ham in lieu of another side dish or appetizer.

Is there anyone out there who would volunteer to bring some beverages and a couple of bags of ice? 2 liter soft drinks (both diet and non diet) would be perfectly satisfactory.

BTW, We've got cups, napkins, paper plates, and plastic ware left over from the last potluck. We'll bring all that stuff.

Does anyone have (or can they make) a deposit box for any monetary donations we may receive ?
